Also discussed will be energy-savings aspects of roofing systems, and recommendations for accommodating solar equipment.
3:00 PMSession 7 - Green Building Session: Solar Power in the New Jersey Region
Lyle Rawlings, Chief Executive Officer, Advanced Solar Products,

2 Hour

Whether your facility is large or small, there are many possibilities for the use of photovoltaics. The speaker will provide a basic primer on solar systems, typical applications, and the economics of the installations. He will provide details on the latest government incentives for solar power systems in New Jersey, and a look at things to come. Attendees will gain an understanding of PV technology, why they would or would not want to use solar in their particular application, and how to proceed.
3:00 PMSession 8 - Addressing IAQ Problems Related to Mold and Insulation
James Choquette,Duct and Vent Cleaning of America

1 hour

This session will focus on two indoor-air-quality (IAQ) problems associated with interior insulation in air conveyor systems: 1) mold, and 2) release of fibers. When insulation gets wet, it frequently harbors mold; and when insulation deteriorates, it releases fiberglass fibers into the air stream. Learn how to avoid or solve these problems, via encapsulation or replacement with new advanced coatings and closed-cell insulation.
 October 8, 2008
8:20 AMSession 10 - OSHA's Revised Recordkeeping Standard: Are You in Compliance?
Lou Lento, Compliance Assistance Specialist, USDOL-OSHA

1 Hour

OSHA's revised Standard on Occupational Injury and Illness Recording and Reporting Requirements took effect in January of 2002. This session will help you determine if your facility has been following through correctly with the requirements of this Recordkeeping Standard. Among the topics discussed will be the OSHA 300 Log – what is and is not recordable, the time frame for recording an incident, medical treatment aspects, and privacy aspects.
8:20 AMSession 9 - Ultrasonic Testing: an Important Energy-Conservation Tool for Green Facilities
Howard Napier, U.E. Systems, Inc.

1 Hour

Learn how ultrasound technology can be used for a wide range of energy-conservation improvements that support Green goals.
